Week 17: Sport and play discussion with Sciandri

Because the park will be used a lot and often, residents have expressed a fervent wish that a place for a supervisor be created. The neighborhood sports organization Sciandri, in particular, fulfils currently an important function. Sciandri not only supervises the sports and playground facilities but also lends sports equipment and regularly organises activities for young people. The place for the supervisor was named Climbing Wall Supervisor’s Post a building with the appearance of a large rock that can be used as a climbing wall. A lookout post was to be constructed on top. As noted earlier, the idea for a statue of the Staalman (Steelman) came from the youngsters of the Blauwe Olifant. The statue has to serve as a mascot for the neighborhood and also function as a signpost for the park.
